Your Questions About E Trade Paper Trading

Thomas asks…

Any place/program where I can trade in traditional paper books for the same title but in eBook format?

I’m getting a Sony e-reader, and I I’d hate to have to re-purchase the same books that I already have and spend money on.

John answers:

I’m sorry, but you cannot get ebook for physical books that you already own. I’ve the Kindle 2 and I have to re-purchase the ebooks (those books that I really like) on the Kindle 2 even I have physical version… It is just like when you get a movie in DVD format, you only own the DVD format but not CD version or Blu-ray version…

And I’m not sure if it helps, but if you’re in the United States, I’ll recommend the Kindle over Sony Reader. It has free internet access; and you can find books for the Kindle cheaper than books on Sony Reader, so it makes quite a difference in long term. Amazon also provide much better content support to their Kindle device, compared to Sony.

I remember I read a good comparison here between the Kindle and Sony Reader:

http://www.speedreaderxreview.com/kindle-2-0-vs-sony-reader-prs-700bc-comparison

I own the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. It has recently slashed in price, and it is now $60 cheaper than the price I got mine. So I do think it is a better buy right now.

Hope it helps 🙂

Sandra asks…

What exactly is the Mediterranean area in the post-classical era?

I’m supposed to be writing a history paper about trade between West Africa and the Mediterranean region in the post-classical era (600 C.E.-1450 C.E) but I’m really not sure what they mean when they say the Mediterranean because when I think Mediterranean I think Greece and Italy, around there. But Greece and Italy weren’t really powers in the Post-Classical Era so does it mean more like the Middle East? Could that be considered Mediterranean? Please help!
@ Hector: So it’s really any land area that borders the Mediterranean sea?

John answers:

The Mediterranean area includes the coasts of Spain and France,Scially,Sardinia,North Afica,Crete, the coast of Asia, south coast of Asia Minor.Hope that helps.

Donna asks…

Warriors better not trade for Amar’e?

Why would they do it this system does not need another scorer and his scoring would not be utilized well on GS? I mean Jackson, Ellis, and Maggette are all proven 20+ PPG scorers in the NBA and there is only 1 ball how will they make it work.

Also, barring that they don’t include Curry in the trade how will he grow into a franchise type SG fast, like the team would want. Monta Ellis is a score first PG cause he is really a SG. Amar’e will not as good as he is now in this system it will be like when he had those loaded Suns team w. a score first PG in Marbury. There he averaged 15 PPG.

Furthermore, losing Biedrins will hurt the Warriors he is 1 of only 3 players that can actually defend on the team. It will benefit Phoenix more to get Biedrins off Amar’e than the other way around. Cause, Phoenix looks to be making a move the other direction trying to change it’s culture and incorporate a defensive identity somehow. While, GS is continuing a long the same path that has given no results last season.

Amar’e is a terrible defender and by getting him Golden State improves nothing. Ellis, Maggette, Jackson will most likely not take less shots because Nelson’s uptempo styled is far more unstructured than what Mike D’s uptempo style calls for. It may seem the same for Amar’e, but Mike D’s style actually had plays while Donnie draws up free for alls where the player ultimately makes the decision to shoot, shoot, shoot on all cylinders. On paper the trade seems good, but one who knows a thing or two should know that winning isn’t guaranteed on paper and what may seem as a inferior player can actually be more significant to a team than a believed to be superior player taking his place, so why do this trade?
Even if the Dubs wanted to trade 1 of their 20+ PPG scorers other than Crawford, which they have. With Ellis, Jackson, and Maggette they couldn’t cause those contracts are huge and with the economy the way it is and with most teams dumping their salaries to get under the cap for 2010’s free agent off season no one would touch these contracts.

John answers:

You have good points, but how will the Warriors make the playoffs without Amare. I like the lineup, he’s just a guy that can help the Dubs make the playoffs. Sure, his stats are down, but he can still give us 20/12 along with 1.5 blocks per game. I’m sure his defense will improve with the help of Keith Smart. Also, I’m sure Maggette will be moved if we do get Amare because we need the money we signed him to get an extension for Amare. I know Curry will help us to a better team, but being in the West, you need that one special all star who leads you to the playoffs. When we had Baron, he was the guy. But how many all stars does the dubs have? None. In a way, they need Stoudemire to be in the elite 8. But if giving up Bellineli/Wright/Biedrins isn’t enough, then I say call it off.

Nancy asks…

Should I choose to write my term paper on the “fair trade movement” or “Pirates today.”?

Should I choose to write my term paper on the “fair trade movement” or “Pirates today,” (as in modern day Piracy i.e. incidents relating to the Somali hijackings). I view both subjects equal in interest, but what would be a better topic to discuss in an essay. Which topic would allow me to write more and go deeper in-depth. The paper is a referential informative essay.

Thanks much! Definitely know what I’m choosing! Too bad I can’t choose two best answers ha.

John answers:

I believe it would be easier to captivate interested listeners with Pirates Today. Maybe try comparing them with pirates over centuries past. Hope this helps.
